what is ‘partnership’?
we recognize that no where in scripture is there a ‘joining’ or ‘membership’ of a church. however, for practical functioning purposes of the church body, for accountability and to enforce church discipline, should it be needed, we found it neccesary to create a formal process for being counted as part of our formal corporate church body. for those who desire to make integrity church their church home, we don’t offer typical ‘membership’. we have found that ‘membership’ implies something less perminant and tentative. aside from that, to be frank, we just didn’t like the term ‘membership’. we instead, offer ‘partnership’. this is similar in function to traditional ‘membership’ in joining a church. however, we impress the need to partner with us in our mission to reach the city of greenville with the gospel.
what’s the process to become a ‘partner’?
the process of becoming a partner involves attending a partnership dinner that is offered twice a quarter. at this dinner pastor ben will go over the vision, mission, and statement of faith of the church. questions can be asked about any topic concerning the church: it’s leadership structure, the doctrine and theology of the church and anything else that interests you. following the dinner participants are asked to wait an additional three months before partnership is offered. this additional time is meant for pastor ben to meet with interested persons more privately and for church leadership to have an opportunity to get to know those persons better. salvation in christ is clearly paramount in making the decision for partnership. evidence of that faith should be aparent.
